Xiu was born and raised in Qiyun, a serene, mountainous region of Liseria where rivers wind through misty valleys, and countless bridges link the old towns. Her fathers, both Chinese immigrants from Earth, had come to the planet Parallax after a long and uncertain journey, bringing with them traditions, stories, and a love for music. Along with her two older sisters, Xiu was raised in a home where exploration and independence were encouraged, giving her the space to find her own path.

Growing up, Xiu was enchanted by Qiyun’s landscapes, spending long afternoons watching the trains snake through the mountains and exploring hidden paths along the rivers. While her sisters pursued interests in art and sports, Xiu found her passion at prom when she met a DJ whose energy and music moved her deeply. Captivated, Xiu went all-in on DJing, teaching herself the art of mixing and turning her bedroom into a mini studio. Music became her ultimate outlet for teenage angst and excitement, channeling her emotions through heavy beats and unique soundscapes.

Now a well-loved DJ in Qiyun, Xiu is famous for her high-energy sets and her knack for creating atmosphere. Her goth phase may have mellowed over time, but she still brings an edgy vibe to her sets, mixing unexpected elements—like the sound of petals rustling or a distant train whistle—that give her mixes a unique, nostalgic feel. She owes much of her success to her best friend Xing, who has been her biggest supporter from day one. The two are inseparable, often brainstorming mixes under the stars on her rooftop, plushies in tow, and talking about everything from life to their dreams.

Xiu’s favorite gigs are the events at Xing’s school, where Xing teaches. The students adore her as she not only brings music but also a sense of fun and spontaneity to every prom, party, or school trip. Xiu’s energy is infectious; she’s the life of the party, knowing just how to get the crowd moving and bring even the shyest students out of their shells. Her playful yet down-to-earth nature has made her a hit with both the students and the staff, who often ask her to stay for post-event gatherings to share laughs and stories.

In her off time, Xiu loves quiet cabin retreats, her plushie collection, and the occasional rainy day indoors. She’s not one for alcohol and keeps a wary distance from robots, ever since a run-in with an overly eager robo-bartender who almost trashed one of her sets. Although she’s seen as an edgy, outgoing spirit, Xiu has a sensitive side that keeps her grounded and devoted to her family, friends, and community. Her sets blend her love of music with nostalgia, creating an experience that’s just as much about the place and people as it is about the beat.
