In this new environment, she encountered Hazel, a werewolf born in the Wasteland—a massive, toxic region within Riyoumu. Despite the harsh and dangerous nature of the Wasteland, Hazel’s family had made it their home, living in its treacherous conditions. Despite their differences, Saki and Hazel quickly became inseparable. Hazel’s fiery personality and fierce loyalty balanced Saki’s calm but determined demeanor, and together, they forged a bond that transcended their respective species.

However, meeting Hazel was not without challenges. The Wasteland was a toxic environment, inhospitable to most life, including Saki. Determined to maintain their friendship, Saki would don protective gear to traverse the toxic expanse and visit Hazel and her family. Each visit deepened their connection, and despite the dangers, Saki felt more at home in the Wasteland than she ever had in the outside world. While “Vamp Saki” is more powerful, she also struggles with controlling her bloodlust and heightened aggression, forcing her to keep a delicate balance between her two forms.

To help fund efforts to make the Wasteland more habitable, Saki began participating in underground fighting tournaments. Her second form made her an elite competitor, and she quickly gained a reputation as a fearsome fighter. The prize money she earned from these tournaments went toward researching ways to cleanse the Wasteland, so that one day Hazel and her family could live without the toxic burden. Fighting became not just a means to an end, but a personal mission for Saki. With each victory, she came closer to her goal of transforming the Wasteland into a place where her best friend—and others like her—could thrive.
